SOCCER PREDICTOR / YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 05 October 2026

A free site. Clear account and data practices. No sale of personal information.

1. Who we are

Soccer Predictor at soccerpredictor26.com is operated by an individual based in Australia ("we", "us" or "the operator"). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you browse the site, create an account or use its features. Contact: predictorcontact@proton.me.

2. Free access and accounts

The site is free. Public pages can be browsed without an account. Sign-up and login are required to view the model content available to users, including the verdict comparison card. We do not require payment or a paid subscription for this content.

3. Information we collect

  • Account information: Firebase account identifier, and the email address, display name, profile-photo URL or phone number provided by your chosen sign-in method. Email/password credentials are handled by Firebase; we do not receive your Google password or store your password in our application database.
  • Feature records: saved picks, leaderboard participation, shared prediction snapshots and newsletter subscription status, where you use these features. Legacy balance, bonus or transaction records may exist from earlier versions.
  • Technical information: requests and security logs may include IP address, URL, time, browser information and errors. The site also keeps an aggregate visit counter.
  • Correspondence: information you send when contacting us.

We do not request payment-card details or precise GPS location for the current free service.

4. How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, provide requested features, remember preferences, maintain participation records, verify newsletter status, answer support requests, prevent abuse and diagnose problems. We use usage statistics to understand and improve the site. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

5. Browser storage and analytics

Firebase uses browser storage to maintain your sign-in session. We use local storage for language, display preferences, locally saved choices and acknowledgement of the storage notice. Clearing browser storage may sign you out or reset these preferences.

Some pages load Plausible Analytics. It processes page paths, referral information, browser/device details and approximate location to produce usage statistics. Plausible describes this service as cookie-free, without persistent visitor identifiers or cross-site tracking. Hosting and security services may separately process request data. We do not run advertising trackers.

6. Providers and disclosures

  • Google Firebase: authentication, account identifiers and sign-in/session information.
  • Fly.io: application hosting, stored service records and operational logs.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile and Firebase verification services, where enabled: browser and request signals for preventing automated abuse.
  • Plausible: website usage measurement on pages that load it.
  • QR Server: when you generate a sharing QR code, the public URL to encode and the browser request.
  • Substack: if you visit or subscribe to our external newsletter, it handles that subscription under its own policy; we may retain your email and subscription status to provide associated features.
  • External image, script or social-platform hosts receive normal request information when you load their resources or follow their links.

We may disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the service or people. Football data providers supply match information; we do not send account profiles to them as part of ordinary football-data requests.

7. What other people can see

If you participate in a leaderboard, your display name or an abbreviated name derived from your email, rank and performance may be visible. Do not choose a display name containing information you want to keep private. Anyone with a public prediction-share link can view that snapshot. Ordinary account details are not included in those snapshots. Send no private information in a public link.

8. Retention and deletion

Account records remain until deletion is requested or they are no longer needed. The account deletion control clears the active profile and unlock history and requests deletion of the Firebase account. Some historical participation records, legacy transaction references and limited bonus/anti-abuse identifiers can remain separately for record integrity, accounting or abuse prevention. Deleting your site account does not automatically unsubscribe you from Substack or erase the separate newsletter-status record.

Public prediction links normally expire after 90 days. Expiry stops public access; it does not mean the database record is immediately erased. Logs, backups and other historical records have separate retention arrangements and may not disappear immediately after account deletion. We review deletion requests and retain information only for a justified operational or legal purpose. Contact us for removal of newsletter records, retained identifiers or a specific shared snapshot; unsubscribe from Substack using its own controls.

9. Overseas processing and security

Our application is hosted in Japan. Firebase and other providers may process information in the United States and other countries; Plausible states that its hosted analytics data is processed in the European Union. The operator accesses service records from Australia. Provider locations and subprocessors may change. We use HTTPS and access controls and rely on provider safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials and verification codes private.

10. Your choices, requests and complaints

You can stop using the site, clear local preferences, delete your account and unsubscribe from the external newsletter. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, a copy of your information, deletion, restriction or objection to processing. Email predictorcontact@proton.me; we may need to verify your identity without requesting your password. We aim to respond within 30 days, or the period required by applicable law. If a complaint is unresolved, you may contact the relevant authority, including the Australian OAIC where applicable. This policy does not restrict statutory rights.

11. Age and policy updates

The service is intended for adults aged 18 or older. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service or our practices, and will update the date and provide additional notice where required. Any processing requiring consent will use the applicable consent process, rather than treating this policy alone as consent.
